Benefits of a vitamin C - Why we all need a little bit more!

Anyone else feel all goes out the window on the weekends? I try to live by the 80/20 rule and let the 20 be on the weekend! I find that if I stay hydrated - all is better! I also find that Vitamin C helps, here is why:

Vitamin C protects the body from free radicals causing oxidative stress or cellular rust. These radicals can lead to a number of medical conditions like atherosclerosis, which causes heart diseases and stroke.

Vitamin C is a strong antioxidant that can boost your blood antioxidant levels. This may help reduce the risk of chronic diseases like heart disease.

Vitamin C reduces the elevated levels of stress, hormone and cortisol, and helps the body deal with stress.

Vitamin C may boost immunity by helping white blood cells function more effectively, strengthening your skin’s defense system and helping wounds heal faster. Also helps with hangovers!

Vitamin C plays a key role in the production of neurotransmitters like norepinephrine. They affect the mood of a person and are critical to the proper functioning of the brain.
